The first book of its kind in the history of Arabic calligraphy, it is a culmination of several years of research by Jordanian master calligrapher, Dr. Nassar Mansour who brought this almost forgotten script back to life.
Muhaqqaq belongs to the original ‘6 pens’. Its beauty and clarity meant it was the main script for writing copies of the Qur’an for more than 6 centuries. However, the usage of the script began to fade and by the end of 16th century it disappeared.
Beautifully crafted, the book is presented in 4 languages – English, Turkish, Persian and Arabic and follows the usual format of mashq (copy) books – individual letters, letter combinations as well as examples of the script use in verses from the Qur’an.
