Mustafa Halim Özyazıcı (1898 – 1964), also known as Halim Efendi, was one of the classical Ottoman calligraphy masters.
This collection of model books in naskh, thuluth, ruq’a, diwani and diwani jali is one of the few books still highly regarded as a go-to reference book for these scripts by contemporary masters of Arabic calligraphy.
The book is introduced in Turkish (as is the short biography of Halim Efendi) but the main sections follow the usual format of mashq books presenting letters, letter combinations and word examples highlighting the correct sizes and proportions in the 5 scripts.
