This mega wide qalam pen for Arabic calligraphy is made from white polished acrylic and expertly cut to produce beautifully crisp and sharp lines.  It is easy to clean and requires no re-cutting or sharpening.

Mega wide nibs are easier to control without the handle as crafting the balanced qalam with mega wide nib and handle would put the handle too far from the nib's tip.  

The surface of these nibs is polished to allow for some adjustments to ink flow by gently roughening up the nib with sanding paper (avoid the very tip of the nib). This will increase a surface area for ink and allow longer strokes on a single dip.
